it's a wrap...

2008 was agood year..this blog focuses mainly around my work-life, and there has been much progression since the beginning of 2008. i didn't start back bloging here until this summer, but to sum it up, i learned how to go big and started to get the feel for doing more sculptural work..i also took a stab at doing some production oriebted work, but quickly saw after about a month that i am not a production potter! i love production work, and have a lot of respect fpr the craftsmanship involved. my work is moving towards more of the non-finctional, and large one-of-a-kind pieces...also, i introduced much more color onto the sgraffito work, which feels great, since i want to be a painter when i grow up. i dabbled with some print design work, using the print gocco and slikscreen methods..this past year laid alot of groundwork for the vision i have of 2009..i have a plan and some goals, and am most excited for all the happy accidents that will happen and enrich my art all the more.. i am currently at the co-op gallery in town so i should go and mingle with some customers..happy new years to all!..thanks for sharing this adventure with me...i love you..really. be good to yourselves and each-other, create-live, be free.. and see you in 2009! tommorrow!;)

I agree with your thoughts on production pottery. While I would love to do that and know those who are very happy doing it, my mind just wanders off too much to be consistent. Now that I have decided on this Raku kiln, I am thinking of more sculptural work for 09 as well. Nice to read your thoughts on where you have been and where you are going!
